Me Time online support sessions for carers living in Wales
Our online support sessions in Wales are a series of online activities to support your wellbeing. Activities range from practical advice on carers' rights and caring to emotional and physical wellbeing sessions like mindfulness and dance, to creative opportunities like crafting and cooking. Sessions are open for anyone across the UK.
Below you will find details of the sessions available in April. To sign up, click the link and fill out a short Zoom registration form. We look forward to welcoming you to our friendly and supportive sessions!
Wednesday 5 April: 10-11am: Resilience for carers with Natasha Mann
This workshop unpicks the key components of resilience, how to boost it and how to explore your personal resilience landscape. You'll learn different tools and strategies to help you navigate your unique challenges and look for ways to survive and thrive on a daily basis.
Tuesday 11 April: 2-3pm: Let's get physical!
Join us for a special Carers Active April session. Come along and find out more from the Carers Wales team about physical activity opportunities for unpaid carers including potential discounts available for leisure activities.
Thursday 20 April: 11-12pm - Spotlight on energy support with Care and Repair
Find out how you can get support for yourself or someone you look after aged 60+ The care and repair team can offer energy support, free energy assessments of your home and more. The sessions will be for an hour with 30 minutes of presenting followed by a Q&A. What is spotlight on? Spotlight on is part of our Me Time online support programme. The aim of these sessions is to shine a spotlight on a specific topic area to share information, guidance and practical tips to carers. We use external professionals to run these sessions or same sessions will be provided internally by the Carers Wales team who have experience and knowledge on various topic areas.
Friday 21st April - 10am: Carers Walk - Llandudno - *In-person event
Carers Wales is holding 3 walks on Friday 21st April across Wales to give carers a chance to come together and get some light exercise to celebrate Carers Active April.
At 10 am, we will be taking a walk down the Promenade in beautiful Llandudno.
Friday 21st April - 12pm: Carers Walk - Bute park, Cardiff- *In-person event
Carers Wales is holding 3 walks on Friday 21st April across Wales to give carers a chance to come together and get some light exercise to celebrate Carers Active April.
At 12 pm, we will be taking a walk down around the lovely Bute Park in Cardiff.
Friday 21st April - 2pm: Carers Walk - Flint Castle, Flint- *In-person event
Carers Wales is holding 3 walks on Friday 21st April across Wales to give carers a chance to come together and get some light exercise to celebrate Carers Active April.
At 2 pm, we will be taking a walk down around the remarkable Flint castle.
Tuesday 25 April: 12-1pm: Hints and tips for working carers
This workshop will help unpaid carers identify themselves or others at work and learn how to get support. It will also help line managers and teams with employee wellbeing responsibilities to understand what carers may need in the workplace.
